Chiaroscuro

Chiaroscuro is a technique involving the use of strong contrasts of light and dark.  Undoubtedly, the most prominent painters who regularly painted with chiaroscuro techniques were Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio and Rembrandt..  Chiaroscuro is readily identified in their work.
